Innate Traditions offers postpartum care training for midwives where innate wisdom, personal authority and the sanctity of life are centered and honored. They also host a directory on their site where future parents can search for an INNATE Postpartum Care – Certified Practitioner in their area. The directory was growing, and wasn’t equipped to offer the search in a user friendly way anymore.
I have helped them to create a new directory on WordPress using a subdomain, because their main site’s CMS was not able to customize the directory the way they needed. I’ve created the site in the same branding and have used Toolset to build the directory itself, applying custom CSS where needed.
The directory has a search area on the index page, and a separate search results page showing up when executing a search. Users can search for practitioners by filtering on Country, State/Province, and City. They can also search by a certain mile/kilometre radius from their own location.
The search results shows in a grid view of eight practitioners, which can also be filtered by alphabetic order or by added date. The single pages of the practitioners show their profile, photo, and contact details. You can easily go back to the search results to see other practitioners that came out of your search.
Now the directory is ready to host the growing number of practitioners and keeps being user friendly for parents who are on the look for a postpartum care professional.
